Past Master Regalia

A Past Master is a brother who has been a Master of the lodge. He is always honored as somoene who has experience and often times during the first meeting of the new year, the past year's master is invited to sit right next to the new master in order to advise him. The Past Master's symbol also is represented by a Square and Compass, the Compass rests upon a Quadrant, and lastly a Sun is enscribed within the symbol.

The Symbolism of the apron is explained as follows:

The Sqaure teaches us to square our actions. It also serves as a reminder of the office previously held.

The Compas teaches us to stay within "due bounds".

The Quadrant represents that the master has the experience and qualifications needed to navigate his lodge through the rough waters of life.

Lastly, the Sun represents light of Masonry.
